From LINE WEBTOON:
A few thousand years has passed since an alchemist created Winter. He is now living with Jane learning what it means to be alive as a human.
I didn’t expect this webtoon to do this to me.
I’m not even a big manga or manhwa person, but Winter Woods? Yeah, I’m completely hooked. I discovered this gem about a year and a half ago, and since then, my weekly routine is basically just waiting for the next update on LINE WEBTOON. It’s a mix of fantasy, supernatural, and romance, and honestly, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever read!
The story is so unique. It’s about "1001," a boy created by an alchemist thousands of years ago. It has such a strong Edward Scissorhands and Tim Burton vibe (and you guys know I love Tim Burton!). Winter is so innocent and literally knows nothing about the world. Watching him meet Jane and start living with her to learn "how to be human" is just everything. Jane even gave him the name Winter Woods. How cute is that?!
To go with the Frankenstein-ish theme, it's so interesting how Winter is actually quite different from us. Moreover, Winter's heart doesn't beat like a normal human being, so he is actually considered undead. It’s crazy to think about, but it makes his journey to find "life" even more meaningful!
As the chapters go on, everything just gets so much more intense. I’m honestly trapped in this plot! It’s not just a simple romance; there’s a much darker side to it with twists I never saw coming. I love how it blends slice-of-life moments with this deep journey of self-discovery. It really has a bit of everything. It’s creepy, funny, gothic, and it’s always wrapped in mystery. Every single chapter gives me so many feels because it’s such a complete mix of emotions. What I love most is how the story transitions from being dark and creepy to being absolutely adorable. It successfully teeters on that fine line between "creepy" and "cute" in the most wonderful way.
And can we talk about Winter for a second? I’ve always had a soft spot for male leads, but Winter is special. He isn't exactly the "cool" or "sweet" guy, but he’s so gentle, shy, and incredibly huggable! Oops! ☃️ Seeing him try so hard to be "normal" and wanting to be loved just makes me want to give him a giant hug. Even all the side characters are so well-developed; everyone has their own secrets and they’re all connected somehow.

| Look, he’s looking so much more alive lately. It’s like the color is finally bleeding back into his world. |
Also, THE ART!! Van Ji is a genius. The artwork is so stunning and captivating, easily some of the best I’ve ever seen in a webtoon. I love how Winter starts looking "more colorful" and less pale as he learns more about emotions. It’s so visual and beautiful!
Since this webtoon is still ongoing, I honestly can’t say much about how it will end. I’m just crossing all my fingers and hoping for a happy ending, because I don’t think I’m emotionally ready for anything tragic. Oh, and one last thing: I really, really hope Winter finally grows some eyebrows! Seeing him dream about them was so heartbreaking but also kind of funny. But hey, with or without eyebrows, he’s still wonderful to me!

| It’s actually so sad how much he wants eyebrows. Seeing this happen only in his first dream.. it hurts ☹️ |
Winter Woods is one of those stories that quietly sneaks into your heart and refuses to leave, and honestly, I don’t want it to.
Rating: 9.8/10 (Ongoing and I ❤️ IT!)

Yeah. I finished reading all the chapters yesterday and damn, I'm crying and at the same time laughing badly at 12 midnight. This webtoon contains so much feels. <3
